On October 16, 2024, TESDA Regional Training Center Central Luzon – Guiguinto, headed by Center Chief Rheo Henry Rodriguez, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Baliwag, Bulacan and Balay Silangan: Baliwag City Reformation Center, launched a 35-day Garments Skills Training Program for 23 drug reformists.
The Training Induction Program, facilitated by Registrar Ms. Andrea Vergara and guided by the expertise of Trainer Ms. Jesusa Luena, the program focuses on practical skills such as preparing and cutting materials for casual apparel, sewing casual apparel, basic t-shirt making and making home essentials like bed sheets, pillowcases and curtains.
Participants expressed gratitude and optimism that the skills they gained will lead to employment or entrepreneurial opportunities. Beyond technical knowledge, the program fostered a sense of community, purpose, and self-confidence among the trainees.
This initiative underscores the center’s strong commitment to personal development, offering meaningful opportunities for drug reformists, and reinforcing its role in driving social transformation and empowerment.
