On December 4, 2025, the Regional Training Center Central Luzon – Guiguinto, led by Center Chief Rheo Henry M. Rodriguez, in partnership with the Municipality of Doña Remedios Trinidad under Mayor Ronaldo T. Flores through its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) headed by Ms. Joylene Q. Sembrano, successfully conducted a meaningful one-day skills training program in Brgy. Kalawakan, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan.
This transformative initiative focused on empowering 50 women from the Indigenous Dumagat Tribe of Sitio Kambubuyugan. As mothers, often regarded as the “ilaw ng tahanan”, they play a crucial role in nurturing their families and their tribe. By equipping them with new and relevant technical skills, the program strengthened not only their capacity to care for their families but also their ability to contribute to the resilience and development of their community. The program connected their role as the light of their families with learning how to bring actual light through solar night light installation.
The participants engaged in hands-on training on Solar Night Light Installation, facilitated by Engr. Arsenio D. Milagroso together with the trainees of RTCCL-Guiguinto’s PV Systems Installation NC II program. The training covered fundamental concepts on renewable energy, emphasizing solar night light installation, safety practices, and energy-efficient solutions suited for remote and far-flung communities. With the skills they gained, the participants can now install and maintain solar lighting systems that can help build safer, more sustainable, and well-lit environments within their community.
This initiative stands as a testament to TESDA’s unwavering commitment to inclusive, community-based, and sustainable development. By addressing the needs of Indigenous Peoples and uplifting women who serve as the pillars of their homes, TESDA continues to champion programs that foster empowerment, resilience and meaningful transformation in remote communities.
