The Regional Training Center Central Luzon-Guiguinto and TTI Advisory Council (TAC) successfully convened for their second quarterly meeting on June 26, 2024.
Mr. Jeffrey Guevarra, as the TAC Secretariat, facilitated the meeting, which was attended by Ms. Cristina Tuzon, TAC Chairman and its members: Mr. Rheo Henry Rodriguez, Center Chief of Regional Training Center Central Luzon – Guiguinto; Ms. Lota Yasa of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bulacan; Ms. Aira Ronalie Santos, representative of Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Bulacan; Ms. Rosemarie Guirre, representative of the Bulacan Polytechnic College; Mr. Ariel Corbito, representative of Accelerate Construction Services Bocaue, Bulacan and Mr. Roderick Alcantara, RTCCL-Guiguinto Partnership Focal.
Key resource persons, including Mr. Melchor Soylon from Holcim Philippines and Ms. Nilda Macalinao from Bulacan Hardware Association, highlighted the current shortage of skilled Truck Drivers and Forklift Operators. These skills are essential as the New Manila International Airport in Bulacan approaches its 2027 operational phase, necessitating a well-trained workforce to handle the anticipated logistical and operational demands.
The meeting resulted in the approval of key resolutions aimed at enhancing the training offerings to meet the evolving needs of the industry: Resolution No. 02, s. 2024, Registration of Driving (Passenger Bus/Straight Truck) NC III and Resolution No. 03, s. 2024, Registration of Heavy-Equipment Operation (Forklift) NC II. These steps underscore RTCCL-Guiguinto's unwavering commitment to meeting the region’s evolving skill demands, bridging existing gaps, and equipping the workforce for future opportunities in construction and logistics.
