October 8, 2024
On October 8, 2024, the TESDA Regional Training Center Central Luzon – Guiguinto, under the leadership of Center Chief Rheo Henry Rodriguez, conducted a Career Guidance Program and Skills Demonstration for the Junior and Senior High School students of Guiguinto National High School (GNVHS).
The program, facilitated by Ms. Andrea Vergara, Registrar of RTCCL-Guiguinto, highlighted the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as part of the K to 12 curriculum. Ms. Vergara explained how TVET equips students with practical, industry-relevant skills, increasing their employability in a competitive job market. She also presented various career opportunities in technical fields, highlighting how technical training can pave the way for both personal and professional growth.
The event featured participation from RTCCL-Guiguinto scholars, many of whom were alumni of GNVHS. These scholars, currently enrolled in the Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NC IV program, demonstrated innovative project prototypes they developed using Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) technology. The projects featured a 3-Floor Mini-Elevator and a 3-Stage Automated Sorting Machine, which showcased the application of skills learned through their training. Their presentations served to inspire and motivate the attending students to consider pursuing similar technical training.
The program concluded with a message from Mr. Jeffrey Guevarra, Training Instruction Supervisor, who encouraged students to explore further education at RTCCL-Guiguinto. He stressed the value of continuous learning and how vocational training can be a foundation for career advancement. His remarks inspired students to strive for excellence and consider the opportunities that technical education can offer for their future success.
