The Regional Training Center Central Luzon – Guiguinto, led by Center Chief Rheo Henry Rodriguez and in partnership with PESO Doña Remedios Trinidad, conducted a one-day skills training program in Brgy. Camachile, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan, benefiting 39 members of the Indigenous Dumagat Tribe from Sitio Tabayan and Sitio Sapang Bato.
The program provided hands-on training in solar night light installation, candle making, and soap making, facilitated by experts Mr. Marvin Sebastian and Ms. Angelita Mungcal. Participants gained practical skills in renewable energy and production techniques, empowering them to create sustainable livelihood opportunities and improve their quality of life.
The initiative aimed to empower the Dumagat community by providing tools for sustainable living while addressing the tribe's unique challenges. One participant, Mr. Michael San Jose, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the training and free solar kit. He emphasized that the program would not only illuminate their homes but also pave the way for a brighter future, particularly for his children’s education.
This program exemplifies TESDA's dedication to fostering inclusive development and sustainable solutions for Indigenous communities.
